Guarding the Good Deposit
In 2 Timothy 1:14, Paul charged Timothy to “guard the good deposit" — the teaching and traditions passed down from Christ through His apostles. Guarding the Good Deposit podcast is all about what that means for us today. Rooted in the patterns of Acts and the Epistles, we're exploring the foundations of our faith and discovering how it can re-shape our life and ministry in the 21st century.
As the influence of Christendom fades, we want to be faithful to Paul's charge - contending for the faith, guarding the good deposit, and holding fast to the sound teaching given to us by the first followers of Jesus. Join us as we imagine how church families today can be renewed by fully returning to The Way of Christ and His Apostles.

Welcome to Guarding the Good Deposit — a podcast about contending for the faith in a time when Christendom is fading.
In 2 Timothy 1:14, Paul urges Timothy to “Guard the good deposit.” This wasn’t just advice for a young leader in the first century. It’s a charge for the church in every generation — including ours.
So the question is… what exactly is that deposit? Is it just a set of beliefs or a doctrinal position? Or does it refer to the teaching, the patterns, the apostolic tradition, and the way of life that came from Christ and was passed down through His apostles?
In our quickly changing world today, this question matters now more than ever.
Guarding the Good Deposit is a podcast rooted in the patterns of Acts and the Epistles. We’re exploring how the early church was established, how the gospel expanded, and how those biblical patterns can still shape our lives and church families today.
I’m Matt Andersen. And you’re invited to join me and my co-host, Scott Canion — for Guarding the Good Deposit.
Our first series focuses on the book of Acts — and all that Christ continued to do and teach through the work of the Spirit and through His faithful followers.
